EVENT NEWS
The competition kicked off with the 40 shot Air Rifle match. Nine shooters battled it out with Dane Sampson dominating with a fine 380. The match also witnessed (again)the well and truly retired Alan Smith putting in solid performance much to the annoyance of Cliff Walker and others who actually train (occasionally). Tamsyn Henry picked up 2nd in the process posting probably the worst and best 10 shot strings for the day. Third place was filled by Alyce Devlin who posted a huge PB of 358.
This was the first time we had used the ShotSoft software with the Rika scoring machine.....IT WAS GREAT!!!
Five shooters took on the challenge of the Para 3p Match.
This is a modified 3 position event, shooting pants and boots are forbidden, 25 shots in all.
Dane Sampson once again reigned supreme with a score of 206 from Cliff Walker(188) who threatened until required to shoot standing. Dan Hunziker posted a creditable 181 when you consider it was his first time standing to take third.
The last match of the day was 50 mtr Prone, Dane's hope of a clean sweep was dashed by Jack Barnes who posted 587 to take first place 3 points clear of Dane in second. Cliff took 3rd with what could only be described as an interesting 574.
Once the shooting was over it was time to commence the festivities. This years theme was Gangsters and Molls and most warmed to the theme with enthusiasm....a stand out was Garrin Angel who could have been Aussie Bob's (Bob Trimbole) double.
For dinner we started with Garlic Bread, Cheese, Olives and Spicy Sausage followed by "own made" Lasagne and Salad. The dinner was completed by nummy Italian Style Sweets
Many thanks to those that participated and helped during the day and night.
